Girl, What is Prayer? Why do we pray? How long should we pray? How do you build consistency in Prayer?

As godly girls, we often encounter various challenges in our prayer life. One such challenge is the concern of feeling inadequate or unworthy of connecting with God. This fear can arise from a misunderstanding of God's unconditional love and grace.

However, it is important to remember that God's acceptance is not based on human performance or external appearances, but on our relationship with Him. Through prayer, we can cultivate a deep connection with God, knowing that He loves us unconditionally, even with our flaws and all.

Additionally, some Christian girls may struggle with distractions during prayer, such as overthinking or worrying about their responsibilities. These distractions can prevent them from fully engaging in their prayer time. Lastly, some girls may experience fear of judgment or rejection from God, especially if they feel they have failed or sinned. These fears can hinder their prayer experience and prevent them from seeking God's forgiveness and guidance ✨ 

What is Prayer?

Prayer is a communication between you, Godly girl and God. Prayer is communicating with God as you would with a friend. God doesn't require us to come to Him with large words or fancy language, 1 Corinthians 14:15 - "I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding. He longs to hear what our heart desires, our worries and what we're thankful for.

What is communication?, simply put, Communication is a two-way process involving the following elements: a sender, a message, a medium, a channel, a receiver, a response and feedback. With this instance;

• You are the sender,

• Your words is the message,

• Your heart is the channel/medium,

• God is the receiver

• His responses in the Feedback.

Throughout various scriptures, there are numerous accounts that highlight how numerous individuals prayed to God. Two notable stories that exemplify this are the narrative of Abraham and Isaac and the story of Hannah. Furthermore, Job's unwavering perseverance and Jesus' prayers are also noteworthy. In each of these instances, it becomes evident that when these persons prayed, they were not merely addressing one deity or God, but they were also recipients of divine communication.

One of the most intriguing aspects of these stories is how God responded. God utilized various means to convey messages to these individuals, including an audible voice, dreams, visions, individuals, plants, and signs.

It is important to understand these principles because there will be days where you pray and still feel a drag. Prayer will never be a waste of time. No matter how far away you have been, you can be on fire again.🙏💕

Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us with our Heavenly Father. It is a sacred act of communication with God, where we can seek guidance, blessings, correcting and training in righteousness, and forgiveness.

Why do we Pray?

1. So, we can deepen our relationship and Fosters intimacy with God

2. So, we can continually know the will of God (Request wisdom and discernment, Clarifies life decisions and purposes) and seek His guidance and direction

3. So, we can submit to God's authority for our lives

4. So, we can confess sin and seeks forgiveness

5. So, we can develop perseverance and patience

6. So, God can do in your life what He wants to do: There are purposes in your life that God cannot accomplish until you become a person of prayer. Rev 3:20 paints a beautiful picture of this.

7. So, the Devil cannot do in your life what He wants to do: As believers even though we don’t live in fear of the devil, it does not mean that we are ignorant of his devices. When we pray, we build ourselves up and fortify ourselves against his attacks. Luke 22:31-32.

FYI, God is constantly looking for girls to partner with Him for his will to be established on earth. To execute the will of God on earth, you must be a girl of prayer.

Why is it Important to build Consistency in Prayer

Tips for Building Consistency in Prayer:

• Set a regular prayer schedule (time) - Start small and gradually increase time

• Go to Church and Meetings

• Find a quiet and distraction-free space

• Use a prayer journal or app

• Pray with a friend or accountability partner

• Incorporate scripture and worship

• Be patient and persistent

• Seek guidance from spiritual leaders

• Make prayer a priority

• Celebrate answers and blessings
